New York, NY (January 20, 2004) - Ladies and Gentlemen, Celebrities and Sponsors, there will be more than Super Bowl rings in Houston at the end of January. There will be three rings in the middle of a spectacle unlike anybody has ever seen when Maxim magazine throws its annual on-site Super Bowl party, "Circus Maximus 2004" on Friday, January 30, 2004 in Houston, TX.
Maxim is the best-selling men's lifestyle magazine in the country and the world, with a guaranteed rate base in the United States of 2.5 million, almost twice its nearest competitor.
Hundreds of celebrities and sports stars, along with the movers and shakers of corporate America, will have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to visit Circus Maximus, a new and twisted version of the classic western spectacle. From Ferris wheels and fortune-tellers to contortionists and can-can dancers, your Super Bowl experience would not be complete without a trip to the circus.
Always striving to create bigger, more unique experiences for readers and advertisers, Maxim has gone over the "big top" to make the 2004 Big Game weekend event the best yet. Taking over a large ranch outside Houston, Circus Maximus will be a night like no other.
"Again Maxim leads the publishing industry with a three-dimensional creative marketing concept that elevates everything to more than just a mere 'party,'" says Maxim general manager Andy Clerkson. "Our advertising partners understand that creating new worlds such as Circus Maximus give a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for people to be exposed to the latest and greatest products in the total Maxim environment."
Here is just a glimpse at what lucky guests will experience at Circus Maximus:
- Maxim's Ferris Wheel will shine through the night as the beacon of Circus Maximus. The ride will offer rides to guests throughout the night. Pick up a souvenir picture of your evening before you leave!
- Step into the "PlayStation® Eye Candy" tent in the Big Top featuring the interactive PlayStation® EyeToy(tm). All around the Circus Maximus grounds you can jam on PlayStation® 2's hottest new games - - "NFL GameDay(tm) 2004," "SOCOM II: Navy SEALs"; "Rise to Honor(tm)" and "Ratchet & Clank(tm): Going Commando."
- Take a trip back in time inside the Coors Light Saloon. Grab a beer from the bar, play a few hands at the casino, take a wild ride on the mechanical bull and hang out with Maxim's saloon dancers.
- On the red carpet, you won't miss the new Dodge Ram SRT-10, loaded up with the famous Hometown Hotties right from the pages of Maxim. Inside the Big Top, the all-new Dodge Magnum will pull a cage full of beautiful models dressed as lions and tigers. This may be a cage you want to get close to!
- Try your luck at the Borgata Casino inside the saloon. Featuring poker, blackjack and roulette, guests are invited to play to win a wide range of fabulous prizes which can be redeemed up at the town general store along Main Street.
- As the official spirits partner, Allied Domecq will offer their wide range of premium products to legal drinking age adults throughout all the bars in Circus Maximus, including Stoli® Vodka, Sauza® Tequila, Maker's Mark® Whisky, MALIBU® Coconut Flavored Rum, Kuya® Fusion Rum and WET by Beefeater®. Order up a special Circus Maximus cocktail from one of the numerous Allied Domecq-sponsored bars as you enjoy performances throughout the night.
