STUFF MAGAZINE BECOMES THE FASTEST GROWING MEN’S MAGAZINE OF 2001

Stuff’s Ad Pages Up 32% In First Quarter 2002; Revenue Up 50%

New York, NY (February 15, 2002) Stuff magazine announced today that its ABC Publishers Statements for first and second half 2001 (as filed with the Audit Bureau of Circulations, subject to change) show an 11.5% increase in total circulation, making it the fastest growing men’s magazine of 2001.

For second half 2001, the magazine saw a year-to-year circulation increase of 36%, thanks to average paid copy sales of 1,103,745 copies.

Stuff enjoyed an astonishing 94% year-to-year increase in paid subscriptions, jumping from 310,599 subscriptions in the second half of 2000 to 602,067 in the second half of 2001. Advertisers will have more reason to smile when they learn that they’ve received an “overdelivery“ of nearly 10% over Stuff’s second half 2001 guaranteed rate base of 1 million.

Defying the recent downward trends in lifestyle magazines, Stuff’s first quarter 2002 was up 32% in ad pages and 50% in revenue.

“Did someone mention something about an ad recession?” asked group publisher Jamie Hooper. “I’m pleased to say our March issue carries 63 ad pages and April just closed with 78, which marks a 20% and 11% increase from last year respectively. Remember that we also carried the third highest ad pages in the men’s category for January and February. Advertisers continue to realize how integral Stuff is to the lives of American men.”

General manager Andy Clerkson commented: “Our phenomenal growth in subscriptions proves that more and more guys are committed to Stuff for the long haul, which will be a key to our success in the years to come. That and our high fiber diets.”
