| TWENTY-SOMETHING MEN WITH MONEY TO SPEND FLOCK TO STUFF MAGAZINE IN SECOND HALF OF 2003 |
 |
New York, NY (February 18, 2004) - Who says 20-something-year-old men with money to spend are tough to find? They can be found reading every page of Stuff magazine in industry-high circulation numbers.
Stuff, which is the second largest men's lifestyle magazine in America behind Maxim, continued its lengthy history of overdelivering readers to its advertisers in the second half of 2003, according to general manager Mark MacDonald.
Circulation numbers submitted to the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) show that Stuff magazine had a total circulation of about 1,312,270 in the second half of 2003, representing 112,270 paid readers over the 1.2 million rate base.
MacDonald credits the strong circulation showing to the magazine's refined editorial direction under editor-in-chief Mike Hammer. Hammer has very subtly changed the editorial mix with more pages dedicated to gear, fashion, sports and cars, ensuring that Stuff magazine truly delivers on its reader promise to be the essential product-driven pop culture magazine for men.
Asserting its authority on the tangible objects in a guy's life, Stuff produced its first newsstand special, Stuff Gamer, this past November. Directed at the vast fast-growing videogame audience in time for the holiday shopping season, Stuff Gamer covered the latest and greatest games and accessories, accented with the magazine's sense of humor.
On the advertising front, Stuff has been embraced by the leading young male marketers including Ford, Mazda, Jeep, BMW, Guess?, Tommy Hilfiger, Fila, Nike, Reebok, JC Penney, Unilever, L'Oreal, Christian Dior Perfumes, Coty Lancaster, Harley Davidson, HBO, MasterCard, Gillette, and US Army. In 2003, Stuff was the exclusive book in its category for A|X Armani Exchange, Sony Electronics and Kawasaki.
MacDonald shared his enthusiasm for the magazine's success: "Stuff continues to be the must read for over 5 million guys each month who look to the magazine for their product, entertainment and pop-culture news and information. Stuff's latest circulation numbers prove more men now look to Stuff to be the arbiter of all that is cool in their lives."
