| CAROLYN KREMINS MOVES TO GROUP PUBLISHER SLOT AT THE WEEK; JAMIE HOOPER BECOMES GROUP PUBLISHER OF MAXIM |
 |
New York, NY (April 11, 2002) --Dennis Publishing, Inc. president Stephen Colvin announced today two major personnel moves intended to further strengthen its ranks as the company rapidly grows.
Carolyn Kremins will move over from the Maxim group publisher's position to take the group publisher's slot at Dennis' acclaimed news publication, The Week, which was launched one year ago. The Week general manager Justin Smith will relinquish his publishing duties to Kremins whole retaining his general manager title. Kremins played a key role in the rapid growth of both Maxim and Stuff magazines. She now brings her skills and savvy to The Week to ensure that it realizes its full potential. The Week has become the must-read of the nation's thought leaders, and recently been honored by Dr. Samir "Mr. Magazine" Husni as the most significant magazine launch of 2001.
Jamie Hooper, who began his career as Maxim's first advertising manager when the magazine launched in April 1997, is returning to Maxim as its group publisher. Hooper had spent the last two years as the group publisher of Dennis' red-hot magazine Stuff, which is currently the #2 book in the men's lifestyle category with a 1.1 million rate base. Through April this year, Stuff's ad pages have climbed 23.8% to 228 pages.
Stuff general manager Mark MacDonald will assume the publisher's duties with the job title GM/publisher, an easy transition since he spent many years as the group publisher at Wenner Media's Men's Journal and Family Life, as well as at US News & World Report.
"At Dennis Publishing, both Carolyn and Jamie are the equivalent of our ace pitchers, people we depend on for their skill, intelligence and accomplishment," explains Colvin. "I am certain they will achieve the same level of success in their new roles."
Both Jamie Hooper and Carolyn Kremins live in Manhattan.
