DENNIS PUBLISHING TO PRODUCE MOVIE-THEMED NEWSSTAND SPECIAL FOR YOUNG MEN
New York, NY (February 3, 2003)

Dennis Publishing will produce a newsstand-only special magazine for the largest purchasers of movie tickets and DVD's young men, it was announced by Dennis Publishing president Stephen Colvin. The issue, dubbed Flick, will be released in May 2003 with a distribution of 400,000 copies. In the director's chair will be Greg Williams, currently editor-in-chief of the semi-annual Maxim Fashion. Before Maxim Fashion, Williams was the editor-in-chief of Arena, one of the most prestigious, upscale magazines in the U.K. men's market.

Jamie Hooper, currently Maxim's publisher, will handle the same duties for Flick. Readers can expect a high-energy mix of must-know news and gossip, previews, and the most comprehensive reviews of movies, DVDs and entertainment technologies. Flick will be the ultimate movie magazine for the Maxim guy.

"Flick will be about the hard-wired part of a guy's brain that sends him back to the multiplex time and time again," explains Williams. "We'll focus on mainstream Hollywood output, without excluding independent film, in a visually-compelling and downright opinionated style. Our intention is to replicate the anticipation of watching and discussing cool coming attractions in a theater, fleshed out with titillation, clever insights and heaps of irreverent attitude."

"Dennis Publishing's Maxim and Stuff magazines have proven time and time again that it can put thousands of fans in the seats for opening movie weekends," adds Colvin. "With 2002 box office grosses increasing 8.6% over the year before and Spiderman, Attack of the Clones, Lord of the Rings and James Bond topping the charts, we know this is the right time to give those movie-loving guys exactly what they want."
