 |
New York, NY (May 3, 2004) Eric Simon has been named associate publisher of Dennis Publishing's blazing hot music magazine Blender, it was announced today by Dennis Publishing executive vice president and Blender group publisher Lance Ford.
Simon has been with Dennis Publishing since 1999, when he was hired as Stuff magazine's advertising director when it went to a monthly frequency. After hiring the magazine's first national sales force, Simon went on to generate millions in revenue in his first year on the job.
At the end of 2000, he moved up to bigger responsibilities for the company, as director of custom publishing and later as director of business development. In these positions, he managed projects such as Maxim's first television program in conjunction with the National Football League and ESPN, and established brand extension opportunities, licensing agreements and partnerships for Dennis titles Maxim, Stuff, Blender and The Week.
Before coming to Dennis Publishing, Simon rose through the ad sales ranks at Family Circle magazine, where his last title was New York sales manager.
"We're lucky to have somebody like Eric who not only has longtime sales chops, but who knows every facet of Dennis Publishing in establishing successful programs for our advertisers," says Ford.
Eric Simon lives in Summit, NJ and graduated from The George Washington University.
Blender has a guaranteed rate base of 525,000 in 2004, up 28% from 410,000 in the second half of 2003. Overall, extraordinary sales have lead to a more than 110% increase in circulation since Blender's debut in May 2001.
