| MAXIM LIVING FASHION BEDDING TO BE CARRIED IN MACY'S STORES NATIONWIDE |
 |
New York, NY (June 8, 2005) - A fashion bedding line, falling under the Maxim
Living brand, will be carried in 50 Macy's stores nationwide, including the
flagship Herald Square store, it was announced today by Dennis Publishing brand
development director Barry Pincus. The bedding lines are expected to be in the
stores around June 10, 2005.
Maxim, the #1 men's lifestyle magazine in the country and the world, began rolling out its line of bedding, linens and bath accessories last summer. Maxim entered a long-term licensing deal with PEM America to create Maxim branded high-end lines of bedroom and bathroom products under the umbrella title of Maxim Living to meet today's men's growing demand for premium products to furnish their homes.
"Every year, tens of millions of men are making purchasing decisions for their homes," said Pincus. "Until now, their choice of male oriented brands has been limited. Maxim is a brand that resonates with these men as well as with the women in their lives, 3 million of whom read Maxim each month. This places Maxim among the most read magazines by women in the United States, and the Maxim Living designs, although male oriented, are designed to appeal to a broad audience."
"Macy's is very excited to be carrying the Maxim line in our stores nationwide", said Lester Gribetz, senior vice president, Macy's Home. "Men are interested in what is in their home and we are thrilled to be able to offer them something new."
Four bedding lines will be introduced to Macy's:
- Boardwalk: This city sophisticate stripe ensemble is a stunning combination of Mediterranean Olive and Coppery Southwestern tones. The blend creates a look that is comfortable in both city and suburban decors.
- Vibe: A modern appeal with an electrifying look. Vibe updates a room to a more modern look but remains neutral in coloration.
- Tribeca: A touch of the exotic in an earthy chocolate brown comforter set. A khaki-tan vine woven feature gives this ensemble a sense of adventure but in a most civilized manner.
- Union Square: This style savvy coverlet set is set in a rich taupe and finely quilted making it "blendable" with multiple decors and color schemes.
All comforter sets will be over-sized and designed in modern contemporary patterns, appealing to both men and women. The U.S. bedding market is estimated to be over $7 billion in wholesale sales. The fashion bedding line follows Maxim Living's other major successful brand extension for the home, ready-to-assemble Maxim-branded home office and entertainment furniture. This great home furniture targets men in their 20's, and is carried at Circuit City, Staples and Fry's Electronics stores. Maxim Living, as previously announced, will also launch it line of barware in the fourth quarter of this year. Additional Maxim Living products, making it even easier for men to furnish and outfit their homes and apartments with well designed and appealing products will soon be announced.
