JUSTIN SMITH PROMOTED TO PRESIDENT
OF THE WEEK MAGAZINE
New York, NY (June 15, 2005) - Justin Smith has been promoted to president of The Week magazine, it was announced today by Dennis Publishing president and CEO Stephen Colvin. As president, Smith will continue to lead The Week's overall operations, including advertising, circulation, marketing and editorial.

Smith had previously been the general manager since the publication's launch in spring 2001.

Under Smith's watch, The Week saw its circulation rate base rise by 200% from 100,000 to 300,000 and its ad pages grow by 500% since its 2001 launch. The Week has been the fastest growing news and opinion publication in the country in both circulation and advertising in the last three years. BusinessWeek magazine recently said of The Week: "It is quickly becoming a must-read for American's politicians, celebrities and CEOs."

The average household income of a reader is $137,000. A full one year subscription costs $75.

"Despite starting in the middle of an economic downturn, Justin has steered The Week into the must-read publication of thought leaders and affluent Americans," says Colvin. "Justin has lived and breathed The Week since day one, so this promotion is richly deserved."

Before joining The Week, Smith spent a number of years at The Economist Group.
