BLENDER DELIVERS A HIT SONG FOR ITS FIRST CIRC AUDIT REPORT |
 |
New York, NY (September 15, 2003) The official word is in and advertisers have a reason to toast: the readers are flocking to Blender magazine in numbers even bigger than promised!
On its first report from the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC), Dennis Publishing's red-hot music magazine achieved a total circulation of 450,871 in the first half of 2003, representing an overdelivery of nearly 41,000 readers (10%) over the 410,000 rate base.
Blender's newsstand sales of 166,822 also handily beat the newsstand numbers of both Rolling Stone and Spin magazines.
For Blender, the numbers are going nowhere but up. Effective with the January 2004 issue, the magazine's rate base will jump 28%, from 410,000 to 525,000. Overall, extraordinary sales have lead to a more than 110% increase in circulation since Blender's debut in May 2001.
Blender was Advertising Age's Magazine Launch of the Year in 2002.
"When it comes to reaching the true music fan, we knew Blender would connect like hearing Nirvana for the first time," says general manager Lance Ford. "This circulation audit validates what editors Andy Pemberton and Craig Marks are doing. Music fans love the magazine for its diversified range of coverage and the fun and irreverent tone."
