ZINIO SYSTEMS PARTNERS WITH MAXIM MAGAZINE
Hometown Hotties™ First Digital Edition of Newsstand Bonus Issue

BRISBANE, Calif. and NEW YORK- October 23, 2003 - Zinio Systems, Inc., worldwide leader in digital magazine production, distribution and circulation, has been selected by Maxim Magazine, the #1 men's lifestyle magazine in the world, to digitally deliver the Hometown Hotties™ newsstand-only bonus issue to its subscribers.

The Hometown Hotties contest began in March 2003 when readers were asked to go to the Maxim Web site (www.maximonline.com) to vote for their favorites among 1,000 beautiful, all-American girls. Now, in its third and final round, the 10 finalists are featured in a newsstand-only bonus issue to the November 2003 issue, with a call to action to go online to decide which Hometown Hottie will win a photo shoot in Maxim Magazine.

"The Hometown Hotties newsstand bonus issue is a highly-anticipated feature in the November issue, and we're delighted that - by partnering with Zinio - we can offer Maxim's loyal 1.7 million subscribers the exact same content online for them to read on their computer screens," explains Roger Munford, General Manager, Maxim Online. "Innovation is key to Dennis Publishing's Internet strategies, and Zinio provided an opportunity for us to test the waters with a digital publication."

Maxim's Hometown Hotties digital edition will be available at no charge to Maxim subscribers at www.maximonline.com. The digital version of Maxim's Hometown Hotties bonus issue represents Zinio's first delivery of a newsstand-only special issue.

"Maxim's program is a great example of how digital delivery provides publishers with unique ways to serve its customers," said Jeff Bruce, SVP of Sales and Marketing, Zinio Systems, Inc. "Subscribers benefit by receiving highly sought-after content they would traditionally have to purchase at a newsstand. The addition of major consumer titles to Zinio is reflective of the growth of the traditional newsstand, which offers a variety of magazines to represent a range of reader interests."

Since March 2002, Zinio has delivered 10 million digital magazines, such as Business Week, MotorTrend, PC Magazine and Technology Review to one million customers in 200 countries. Zinio offers nearly 100 titles from 30 leading publishers. Major partners include McGraw-Hill, Primedia, Time, Inc., Technology Review Inc., Ziff-Davis, Reed Business Information and IDG.
