MAXIM GOES TO BOLLYWOOD AND LAUNCHES FIRST INTERNATIONAL MEN'S LIFESTYLE MAGAZINE IN INDIA WITH MEDIA TRANSASIA

New York, NY (November 1, 2005) -- In a groundbreaking move, Maxim will be the first international men's lifestyle magazine to launch in India, according to international licensing director Richard Bean. The new edition will premiere in India this month and is being done under an exclusive license agreement with Media Transasia. Maxim is the best-selling men's lifestyle magazine in the country and the world.

The India edition of Maxim will be the 30th international edition. Maxim now sells over four million copies globally every month, with the flagship United States edition attracting 14 million readers alone. Maxim was recently named one of the 20 biggest magazine launches of the last 20 years by Media Industry Newsletter.

Maxim's India edition will have a distribution of 80,000 copies, a large number for that country. The editor will be Sunil Mahra and the publisher will be Piyush Sharma.

"India is an outstanding opportunity for Maxim," said Bean. "Everyone is aware of the size of the market but the vitality and hunger is difficult to comprehend unless one has spent time there. There is also a dearth of true men's lifestyle magazines and I am delighted that Maxim will be the first title to offer readers and advertisers a compelling monthly read".

Media Transasia vice president Rasina Uberoi added, "This is a great coup for Media Transasia. Indian men are screaming out for a magazine such as Maxim and we are thrilled that we will be the first publisher to be able to satisfy the enormous demand in the market."

Spectacular launch parties will be held at a premier spots in New Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata to officially launch the new edition of Maxim.
